Penny L. Hannah

Penny’s practice focuses on general liability defense, civil procedure, and motion practice, with an emphasis on cases involving the Georgia Tort Claims Act. Prior to joining the firm, Penny gained twenty years’ experience working as an Assistant Attorney General for the Georgia Attorney General’s Office. There, Penny represented numerous state agencies, including the Georgia Department of Human Services, its Division of Family and Children Services, the Georgia Board for Health Care Workforce, and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

Additionally, Penny served as appellate counsel in the child protection services area and presented several statewide training seminars for DFCS attorneys, including appellate review training. Prior to law school and her admission to the State Bar of Georgia, Penny worked as a paralegal for the Georgia Department of Law and at two insurance defense firms in Atlanta. She received her undergraduate degree from Mercer University and her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.
